Models

nora exists with both the MSM8917 and the MSM8920 SoC; only the MSM8917 variant is supported for now.

There are 5 possible display panels, only the 571_djn panel with its Novatek touchscreen has been tested. Other touchscreens have not been enabled.

nora is internally near identical to jeter (Moto G6 Play).

  • ValPackett (Notes: Happily running msm89x7 kernel. Carrier locked modem. Damaged (weak) haptics motor by running too high voltage LOL. Now blew out the panel..?)

Installation

Note Support for this model hadn't been packaged JUST YET as of 2025-01-26
Note Warning: Flashing lk2nd is required, as it is a hard dependency. Without it the mainline kernel will not select the display panel (resulting in black screen on boot).
$ pmbootstrap init # choose Vendor: qcom Device codename: msm89x7
$ pmbootstrap install
$ pmbootstrap flasher flash_lk2nd
