How to enter flash mode
- Power + Volume Down buttons or use TWRP reboot bootloader, or
adb reboot bootloader
Installation
- Unlock the bootloader (https://www.getdroidtips.com/unlock-bootloader-moto-g5-plus/)
- Enter fastboot mode
- Execute
pmbootstrap flasher flash_rootfs
- Execute
pmbootstrap flasher boot
(flashing the kernel is not possible as the kernel is too big) - Enjoy
See also Installation guide
Notes
- charging-sdl was tested manually through the debug shell and in plasma-mobile.
- I suggest nmtui to connect to WiFi
Mainline
What works:
- booting to pmOS
- eMMC
- SD card
- display (using simplefb)
- power button and volume down
What doesn't
- everything else
Notes:
- touch probably needs regulators or GPIO properly configured
- 3GB RAM versions of Cedric have weird crashing issues when trying to boot pmOS (2GB RAM versions seem to work fine)
- To append the dtb do:
cat .output/arch/arm64/boot/Image.gz .output/arch/arm64/dts/qcom/msm8937-motorola-cedric.dtb > Image.gz-dtb
from the kernel source directory
