Hardware Write Protection
If you want to modify GBB flags or flash the EC firmware, you have 2 options to disable the firmware write protection: using CCD (Closed Case Debugging) via a SuzyQ adapter or shorting a jumper on the mainboard (labeled JP1). This is not necessary for installing postmarketOS on the device. For more information on ChromeOS write protection, read the mrchromebox documentation. Information on calculating the GBB flags is available at GBB flag-inator and information on using CCD to disable firmware write protection is at mrchromebox as well.
