Installation

lk2nd is a secondary bootloader that provides a standard fastboot interface, which can be used to boot postmarketOS without Android boot flashed or pmbootstrap flasher flash_kernel.

  1. Download lk2nd-msm8916.img from Releases page on Github.
  2. Boot your phone to bootloader (fastboot) mode.
  3. Follow lk2nd instructions to install lk2nd. Basically flash it to the boot partition (fastboot flash boot lk2nd-msm8916.img)
  4. Follow Qualcomm_Snapdragon_410/412_(MSM8916)#Installation to install postmarketOS.
Note Note: Enter lk2nd fastboot mode by pressing Volume Down after booting (this time wait until it vibrates then press Volume Down!

Panel

There are 2 panel variants, and lk2nd is required to enable the panel.

Audio

Headphone microphone breaks sometimes.

Charging

smb1358-charger driver is not available, so the charging is not controlled and there is no charging status reporting.

USB OTG

Another smb1358-charger driver issue. It's currently unable to power up a usb device in mainline.

Acelerometer

Could be mc3230, but the driver is not receiving interrupts at the moment. It also needs to be implemented to have compatible entrys.

Ambient Light/Proximity Sensor

The driver for intersil,isl29044a ambient light/proximity sensor is not available.

FDE

It's not possible to unlock with touchscreen or a keyboard connected via USB OTG at the meantime.
