How to enter flash mode

After phone vibrates because of startup. Phone will try to boot normally. When you see lk2nd text at bottom of screen. Press Volume Down and Power.

Note Note: Pressing the keys too early may cause the stock bootloader to handle the key combination, leading to the wrong mode.
Note Note: Pressing the keys too late may cause boot to not handle combination.

Installation

Using pmbootstrap

Follow Installation/Using pmbootstrap. When asked for the device's vendor/codename, select General Mobile as the vendor and shamrock as the codename.

Follow Lk2nd/lk1st#Usage. Device is merged upstream(#641) but new version is not released yet so you must clone repo and manually build it then do this steps to flash lk2nd: (assuming result of compilation is build-lk2nd-msm8952/lk2nd.img)

  • Run fastboot boot build-lk2nd-msm8952/lk2nd.img to boot lk2nd
  • Phone will boot into lk2nd
  • Run fastboot flash lk2nd build-lk2nd-msm8952/lk2nd.img to flash lk2nd

Device is not tested with lk1st.

To flash the image to the device:

  • Enter lk2nd flashing mode (see #How to enter flash mode)
  • Run pmbootstrap flasher flash_kernel to flash the kernel
  • Run pmbootstrap flasher flash_rootfs
