How to enter flash mode

Note This device has a locked bootloader.

Unlock bootloader

Bootloader unlocking was originally supported, but HMD Global removed the option in December 2019 upgrade, saying some bullshit about regretting the "inconvenience" of allowing us to use our devices as we want to.

One possible solution is to downgrade the device to an earlier official Android version.

  1. Perform normal factory reset in settings to erase Google account information, so you won't be locked from FRP
  2. Power off your phone and connect it to your computer via USB
  3. Enter fastboot mode by pressing both Power + Volume Up + Volume Down at the same time
  4. Choose "recovery mode" here with volume keys and power key to confirm
  5. When you see 'no command' displays on the phone, hold Power and press Volume Up once
  6. Download the ZIP file according to your device model from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/experimental-downgrade-this-phone-back-to-android-10.4360147/
  7. Flash this using ADB using the command adb sideload *update_enchanted.zip
  8. Go into factory and select 'wipe data / factory reset' again
  9. Enable OEM unlocking in Developer settings, then boot into fastboot and run fastboot flashing unlock

Installation
