Debugging

plymouthd can be run manually in a VT, and controlled with plymouth, for more information see the "debugging" page on the Plymouth wiki.

Since plymouthd is started in the initramfs during boot, it can be difficult to collect debug output from it. Adding this parameter to the kernel commandline will instruct Plymouth to send debug output to the kernel log: plymouth.debug=stream:/dev/kmsg
