How to enter flash mode

Note Make sure to unlock your bootloader before you try PMOS, it will not work if you keep it locked.

Step 1: Power off your phone. Step 2: Hold the Volume Down, Home and Power buttons and release the power button when you see the Samsung logo.

Note If it boots into Android or the recovery then power off again and retry.

Step 3: When you see the blue screen asking if you want to go into download mode press the volume up button Now you are in download mode!

Installation

Using pmbootstrap

Follow Installation/Using pmbootstrap. When asked for the device's vendor/codename, select FIXME as the vendor and FIXME as the codename.

To flash the image to the device:

  • Enter flashing mode (see #How to enter flash mode)
  • Run pmbootstrap flasher flash_kernel to flash the kernel
  • Run pmbootstrap flasher flash_rootfs
