How to enter flash mode

Press Volume Down, Power, and Home all at the same time to boot to Odin mode. After lk2nd is installed, press Volume Down and Power at the same time.

Installation

  1. Install lk2nd (alternative bootloader that provides a standard fastboot interface)
  2. Follow Qualcomm_Snapdragon_410/412_(MSM8916)#Installation.
Note Note: Enter lk2nd fastboot mode by pressing only Volume Down + Power (not the Home button). Pressing the Home button additionally will bring you to the Samsung Download mode.

Panel

There is no backlight/brightness control support yet. The panel goes sleeping and turns green. Press the power button to wake it up.

Touchscreen

Touchscreen is not usable due to lacking of driver. Use mouse/keyboard instead.

Battery

simple-battery was used. However it's broken with working modem and causes powering off due to false 0% capacity returned. Ideally it will be replaced with sm5703 fuel gauge when the driver is available.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth somehow doesn't work without reloading kernel module btqcomsmd. Bluetooth should work after reloading.

# modprobe -r btqcomsmd
# modprobe btqcomsmd

USB OTG

J3 is currently unable to power up a usb device in mainline. Try a hub with external power supply.

MUIC

sm5502 is used as a hack. Ideally it will be replaced with sm5703 when the driver is available.
