How to enter flash mode

Note 0. You must have an unlocked bootloader.

1. Power off the device.

2. Press and hold the volume up button.

3. While holding the volume up button, connect the device to your computer.

4. A blue LED should light up, you can release the volume up button.

Installation

Using pmbootstrap

Follow Installation/Using pmbootstrap. When asked for the device's vendor/codename, select semc as the vendor and urushi as the codename.

To flash the image to the device:

  • Unlock your bootloader (see official Sony page for instructions)
  • Run pmbootstrap install --sdcard=/dev/sdX to install the rootfs to SD card
  • Enter flashing mode (see #How to enter flash mode)
  • Run pmbootstrap flasher flash_kernel to flash the kernel

Known issues

  • Colors are wrong in some way (e.g. green is blue)
  • The device doesn't enumerate via USB.
