The Xiaomi Redmi 9T is a mid-range smartphone manufactured by Xiaomi and officially announced on January 8, 2021. The device was released globally on January 18, 2021 and is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 platform.

At the moment it's possible to boot PostmarketOS but with no functionality beyond ssh and pre-installed packages.

The device shares hardware similarities with other Snapdragon 662 phones, but a functional device tree configuration suitable for PostmarketOS have not yet been completed.

How to enter flash mode

Power off device, hold down both Power and Volume Down to enter fastboot mode.

Installation

It's possible to boot PmOS with limited functionality.

pmbootstrap init

Choose fxtec-qx1050

pmbootstrap install

Install PostmarketOS:

fastboot erase dtbo
pmbootstrap flasher flash_rootfs --partition userdata
pmbootstrap flasher flash_kernel
fastboot reboot


UART (untested)

It's possible to access UART pins (TX and RX) by only opening its back plate. For more info: Serial debugging
