How to enter developer mode

Note This will reset all data on the device.

When the laptop is turned off, hold Escape + Refresh and press Power to enter recovery mode. Once in recovery mode, press Ctrl + D and follow the prompts to enable developer mode.

USB booting must be enabled to install anything, do this by opening a developer terminal with Ctrl + Alt + T and running the following commands:

crosh> shell
chronos@localhost / $ sudo crossystem dev_boot_usb=1

The process to enter developer mode may get stuck with an error visible on the top left corner of the display, if this happens wait a few minutes and then do a hard reboot by holding the Power button, this should leave the device in developer mode once it restarts.
