Category talk:OpenWrt

From postmarketOS

Reason

I've posted this page for several reasons.

  • A potential companion to future pmOS apps.
  • Some (Iot, so called) devices are running modified versions of OpenWrt which are potential pmOS target.
  • Expose pmOS community to OpenWrt so they know that they can make more devices to run Linux and make them truly their own.
  • This website is censored in my country (checked via 3 ISPs), and so I want this page to be used as a reminder. I've checked, and it is not blocked due to legal provisions of court of law. I can only guess that the armed forces have decided to activate that censorship.

At First a lot of rotuer are using mips soc so pm os cant run on them . Second PM OS dont support ubi and a lot of rotuer use nand chip without a nand controller (see Next Thing Co. CHIP).BTW openwrt dont officially support proprietary firmware (eg broadcom firmware) and downstream kernel. In my opinion, the only routers that makes sense to run pm os is those arm based rotuer that support usb boot and required downstream kernel/proprietary firmware.

I planed to port pm os to a arm based rotuer that support usb boot and required downstream kernel btw
