Web developer, tinkerer, Unix fetishist, Linux aficionado. Mad enough at Google to be daily driving postmarketOS without a backup, and enjoying it immensely. Currently daily driving a Xiaomi Poco F1 OnePlus 6T (8/128 GB). Was running 24.06 stable but switching to edge as we speak.
Relevant Credentials: I've daily driven Linux on and off since ~2016. After a hiatus of a couple years, I boycotted Windows and hard-switched after Update force-installed 11 on a laptop that had zero driver support for it, and then the downgrader borked the MBR and made it unbootable. Installed Mint that day, switched to Fedora some months later, and have never looked back.
Also have experience with Linux on servers, although these days I keep that mostly for personal stuff and use managed services for clients, just for my own sanity.
I have lots of experience obsessively tweaking my Linux installs to my will/preference, but very little (absolutely none) experience with kernel stuff. I do have the blind confidence to boldly go where I have no right to be found though, so hoping to learn what I can about porting. Don't know how successful that will be, but at the very least, I plan to contribute what I can by making myself a guinea pig while dailying mobile Linux. I tend to enjoy making simple things as complicated as possible, so I don't see this experiment ending any time soon.
Irrelevant Credentials: In my former life on Windows, I was an absolute menace with Autohotkey (life pro-tip: don't macro SAP R3 in a production warehouse environment. It did save the day a few times, but younger me also definitely caused a small crisis or two in his time lmao).
Still a menace with Excel (in a Tiny 10 VM; it's hard to let go of years of muscle memory).
