A single-board computer (SBC) refers to a fully operational computer that is built on a singular circuit board.

This board is inclusive of microprocessors, memory, input/output (I/O), and all other essential features that make a computer functional.

SBCs are commonly created for demonstration or development purposes, used in educational settings, or utilized as embedded computer controllers.

Many desktop or laptop computers, as well as some home computer systems, consolidate all their functions onto one singular printed circuit board.

Notably, SBCs often have the potential to expand their functionality through the addition of specialized hardware, which sets them apart from Set-top boxes.
